Honduran Pastor/Church Leader Training

After many years of leading Men’s conferences in Santa Cruz and Yamaranguila, Honduras, we decided to help our brothers, and sisters, in Christ get some long term theological/biblical training through ‘Chosen People International (CPI).’ CPI is based in Guatemala and sends their instructors to neighboring countries for a three day training session once every three months for a period of two years. We provided funds for the training, transportation, and meals for all the pastors as well as the instructor. This training included: Theology of OT and NT, 2. Hermeneutics, 3. Systematic Theology, 4. Preaching, 5. Pastoral Care, 6. Church Planting, 7. Marriage, 8. Conflict Resolution. The training began in March 2019 and was actually accelerated and completed in November 2020 due to COVID pandemic as well as 2 hurricanes, Eta and Iota. We are so proud of all of them and pray that the Lord will reach many people in the mountains for Christ through them and their ministry.

Ministry to the Children of Ukraine

Brother Joe Nail and myself ministered for 2 summers (this was Brother Joe’s 3rd trip to Ukraine) to help Pastor Paul Dudka with 2 week-long ‘Kiddo Camps.’ Sometimes ministry is not preaching and teaching in the churches and villages, it’s taking time to minister and love on more than 250 children, most of whom are fatherless at the present time because of the war. The first camp was in the mountains of Shepit where more than 100 children needed to be loved on and taught the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Nearly all of them are Eastern Orthodox and know basically nothing of God’s word or salvation. Each day we had large group time with fun and dancing, followed by breakfast, recreation time, craft time, Bible study, lunch, fun time, and then another large group time to conclude the day. The next week was followed by the same program yet it was located at his church in Vizhnitsa. Though Joe and I are not children’s ministers or leaders, God gave us a voice and a desire to spread the gospel to anyone, anywhere, even with children. At the conclusion of each camp, we gave every young person a Samaritan’s Purse shoebox full of gifts and their own bible, what a blessing it was to see the smiles on their faces. Our prayer is that many will read their Bible, the Holy Spirit of God would speak to their hearts, and bring back a remembrance of the gospel message we shared with them.

Care for outcast in India

For many years, we sought to meet the physical and spiritual needs of the outcast in India through special slum ministries and well as showing the ‘Jesus Film’ in Hindi on roof tops and in ally ways. Since the Hindu’s believe in many gods, reincarnation, and the cast system (shown below) few if any seek to help those in need.

Brahmins: Priests, scholars, and teachers situated at the top of the hierarchy.

Kshatriyas: Rulers, warriors, and landowners.

Vaishyas: Merchants, traders, and farmers.

Shudras: Laborers, artisans, and service providers.

Dalits: Formerly called "untouchables," this group sits outside the standard four varnas and traditionally performed marginalized, menial tasks.

We sought to care for the least of society (Dalits) and share the love of Christ with them by providing food, shelter, and clothing…and most importantly, the Gospel message that they are indeed loved by the one true God who created them in His very image.
